Why we started UddoktaPay
In Bangladesh, most online sales still close the same way. The customer sends money from their own bKash, Nagad, or Rocket, copies the transaction ID into a form, and waits. Somewhere on the other side, a person opens a banking app to check whether it really arrived.
That holds up for a few orders a day. It falls apart the moment you grow. Orders queue behind whoever is holding the phone, customers sit on a pending screen wondering whether they have been cheated, and one mistyped digit turns a real payment into a suspected fake. Sell past midnight and nothing is confirmed until morning.
The obvious fix, a proper payment automation software, was not available to the people who needed it most. In 2021 it meant producing a trade licence and a funded company account, then paying an onboarding fee north of ৳20,000 before your first order.
